Voting Early then Voting Late
Election Day 11:30pm - In the late evening Democrat caucus held at Cy-Falls High School, three precincts came out strongly for Barrack Obama. Precinct #50, precinct #314 and precinct #800 voters in the "second" vote of the day had to wait hours for the 7pm polls to officially close due to extremely heavy turnout on the Democratic side. With less than 30 minutes remaining in the twelve hour voting day, extra voting machines were brought in to increase capacity by fifty percent in order to accomodate the hundreds of people who patiently waited in line to cast their vote for the Democratic candidates, long after the doors were locked.
This Cypress Fairbanks area encompasses tens of thousands of residents in Copperfield, Aberdeen, Copper Lakes, Stonegate and Copper Grove. As of 23:30 CST on March 4th, these three Cy-Fair caucuses had an unofficial final raw vote of 497 to 154 [76.3% versus 23.7%] for a Texas delegate split of 45 for Obama and 14 for Clinton [also 76.3% vs. 23.7% - even with delegate rounding]. This "2nd round" of voting account for one-third of total Democrat delegates and the 7am to 7pm votes ....

Other victims of Foreclosures
The local housing market has another casualty - the family pet. With foreclosure sales where families are finding themselves out on the street, their pets are not -- and often they end up locked inside the homes for weeks to suffer.
A website called ForeclosureCats.Org sells feline art and cat pictures to raise
money to save animals before and after such foreclosures. Hundreds of abandoned dogs and lost cats across the country are being saved from a slow and painful starvation, and thousands of animal deaths can being prevented.
You can also check out their Ebay fundraiser auctions to bid on artwork that will help save lives. Bidding for their second auction starts Saturday, January 26 and could continue for up to ten days.

History of Texas online
CYPRESS, TEXAS (Harris County). Cypress is on U.S. Highway 290 twenty miles northwest of Houston in northwestern Harris County. German immigrants began settling along Cypress Creek in the 1840s. In 1878 a dance hall was built on Huffmeister Road.
The first Cypress school was built in 1884. The original one-room school later developed into the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District -- the second largest area of the state's school districts. Many of the original settler families were remembered through streets and schools that bore their names, like Huffmeister Road and Matzke Elementary.
In the mid-1980s the community proper was unincorporated and had fewer than 100 residents, but the greater Cypress area was a suburb of Houston composed of many subdivisions and thousands of inhabitants. In 2000 the Cypress-Fairbanks area reported a population of 18,527.
